Runner up in the Conad Jazz Contest 2015

The German trio Turn, first founded in 2012, is made up of there up-and-coming young jazz musicians.
The leader Jonathan Hofmeister, who graduated from the Paris Conservatory, has been a member of the Youth Jazz Orchestra of the State of Bavaria since 2014. He has already recorded 5 albums with Turn and other formation, which have resulted in him performing in a number of festivals: in addition to Umbria Jazz the Burghausen Jazz Festival and the Ruhr Piano Festival.
Florian Herzog, after graduating from the Music and Dance Academy in Cologne, he has toured Germany, France, Italy and Belgium with a number of formations, performing at the Moers Festival, at Jazz Maastricht and at the Brussels Jazz Marathon. In 2015, after coming second with Turn at the Conad Jazz Contest, he received the Young German Jazz Award 2015 for the album “Just Another Foundry”, while in 2016 he won the Tremplin Jazz Festival competition at Avignon and the Maastricht Jazz Award.
Jan F. Brill, after studying in Cologne and Nuremberg, he has been very active on the German jazz scene and is regularly performing throughout Germany, in trio with Hofmeister and Herzog or with other formations.
After Umbria Jazz, Turn's carrier is moving ahead very quickly in Germany. In 2016 they released their début album, “Waiting for Fred” (Double Moon Records), followed by a series of concerts all over Germany. They are currently working on recording their second album, while leader Jonathan is continuing his length tour begun in 2017, with 25 dates already booked for the first months of 2018, with a number of different bands.
