Runner up at the Conad Jazz Contest 2014

The project - which involves a few old acquaintances of the Contest, who already made the finals with the T. Monk Collective formation - first came into being in 2014, a natural outcome of a prolonged and very productive collaboration between the three artists. A collaboration that has seen them perform at some of the most important Italian venues: in the same year in which they made their second appearance at Umbria Jazz, Rottoli and Chiaberta were awarded third place at the National Conservatory Festival with the Giovanni Agosti Trio, which subsequently also played at MiTo Settembre Musica 2014. In 2015 they played at Nuoro Jazz as the T. Monk Collective and were awarded first prize in the bands section in the “Chicco Bettinardi” competition with the RCT band (together with Lorenzo Blardone on piano).
In 2016 Rottoli came once again second in the “Chicco Bettinardi” competition, with the Jacopo Mazza Trio, while in 2017 he performed at Bergamo Jazz with the jazz trio led by Tommaso Lando. In the same year, both Rottoli and Chiaberta went on tour in Italy and Holland with the Giovanni Agosti Trio project “Stretching”, produced by their very own independent Honolulu Records label.
At the same time sax player Nicolò Ricci, after winning a scholarship for summer courses at Siena Jazz, is regularly performing in concerts in Milan and all over Italy. He has played with Steve Swallow, Adam Nussbaum, Jesper Bodilsen, Paolino Dalla Porta, Antonio Zambrini, Roberto Gatto, Giovanni Falzone, Pietro Tonolo, Tino Tracanna, Marco Vaggi.
