Yakir Arbib is a classical pianist, composer and jazz artist who has always been blessed with perfect pitch. He is capable of creating new compositions on the spot, taking his cue from melodic input of all kinds. He has won a number of international accolades, including the America-Israel Cultural Foundation award for young talents, the international Massimo Urbani award and second prize at the Montreux International Piano Jazz Competition. At the age of 19, he was contacted by Philology Jazz Records (Chet Baker, Lee Konitz and Phil Woods), with which he released his first album as part of a trio: Portrait. He now performs across the globe both as a solo artist and as a member of a duo named Radio Intro. Arbib’s performances explore the sphere of classical improvisation, which is a core theme in his artistic experimentation and his latest album, Babylon (2018).
