Bologna, May 21, 2026. Conad Jazz Contest, a competition for young jazz musicians promoted by Conad and the Umbria Jazz Foundation that allows the 10 finalists to perform live on the Umbria Jazz stage, announces the extension of the registration deadline to Monday. 8 June 202 6 .
Registration for the Conad Jazz Contest is completely free and open to solo jazz musicians or band members aged 18 to 28 at the time of registration. Registration is open until 11:59 PM on Monday, June 8th to apply and perform as finalists at the prestigious Umbria Jazz festival (Perugia, July 3-12, 2026), as well as compete for the grand prize of .€5,000 to support the winner’s musical career.
Once the registration phase is completed, starting at 11:00 am on June 9th, the phase dedicated to the selection of the 10 finalists of the Contest will begin: the technical jury, chaired by Manuele Morbidini , director of the Umbria Jazz Orchestra and saxophonist composer, will identify 9 of the 10 finalists.
Voting to select the tenth finalist will open simultaneously on www.conadjazzcontest.it: simply register and vote for free directly on the official Contest website via web or smartphone to be part of the “Popular Jury.” Online voting will be open until Sunday, June 14th at 11:59 PM.
The 10 finalists thus identified will perform live on the stage of Umbria Jazz and an artistic jury, composed of Stefano Bragatto , Director of Radio Monte Carlo, Marco Molendini , journalist, and Manuele Morbidini , former president of the technical jury, will decree the overall winner.
The first place winner will receive a cheque for 5,000 .euros to support their musical career, as well as the digital publication of the EP by Universal Music Italia and a tour of live performances, including “Il Jazz Italiano per le terre del sisma” and “ Umbria Jazz Weekend”. Jazz Winter ”, as well as some of the most famous jazz clubs in Italy.
The special prize for the most promising individual musician has also been confirmed for this year, who will be awarded a place at the “Clinics” of the Berklee Summer School at Umbria Jazz 2027 .
