The EP by the winners of the Conad Jazz Contest 2025, distributed by Universal Music Italia, was released today on all streaming platforms.

Conad Jazz Contest, the renowned competition for young jazz musicians promoted by Conad in collaboration with Umbria Jazz, has become an official recording release for the first time.

Bologna, April 17, 2026 – “ Saihs Live at UJ – Conad Jazz Contest Winners 2025, ” the EP by Saihs, overall winners of the Conad Jazz Contest 2025 , is released today . The digital mini-album is distributed by Universal Music Italia and is the first official recording product linked to the competition for jazz musicians between 18 and 28 years old.

Now in its 13th year , the Conad Jazz Contest was born from the desire of Conad and Umbria Jazz to support young jazz talent. Over the years, it has seen hundreds of emerging musicians perform on the Umbria Jazz ” Conad stage ,” the stage that annually hosts the performances of the ten finalists. Many of them, thanks to the visibility provided by the contest, have gone on to successfully launch their artistic careers.

Starting with the 2025 edition, the competition will benefit from a new and prestigious partner: Universal Music Italia . This collaboration further strengthens the initiative’s value, allowing the winners to receive digital distribution of their music, which has already been appreciated by audiences during live performances on Italy’s main jazz stages during the ” Winners’ Tour ,” curated by Umbria Jazz.

The history of the Saihs sextet is closely tied to the Conad Jazz Contest. The project was born in April 2023 from an idea by Giulio Tullio and Giulio Barsotti, with the aim of participating in the competition. In May of the same year, the group took shape and recorded its first three original songs.

The sextet (whose name means “six” in Gothic) is composed of Edoardo Battaglia on drums, Giulio Barsotti on double bass, Lorenzo Fiorentini on piano, Giulio Mari on trumpet, Giulio Tullio on trombone, and Matteo Zecchi on tenor saxophone. After participating in the 2023 edition, the band continued their artistic journey, reaching the final stages in 2024 and winning overall in 2025.

“ Saihs Live at UJ – Conad Jazz Contest Winners 2025 ” collects five recordings taken from the winners’ live performances on the Umbria Jazz stage : “Talag Bati” by Edoardo Battaglia, “Composizione A” by Matteo Zecchi, “Acca Mobile” by Giulio Mari, “Albumblatt” and “Nifi No Rite” by Lorenzo Fiorentini.
